Many of our London apartment rentals are popular with families. These warm, sunny days are perfect for finding fabulous activities and cultural delights that your children will adore. From outdoor fun to award winning theatre, here are some great ways to entertain the whole family during your London visit.
POOLS AND PONDS
This summer promises to be a good one and there’s nothing more delightful than escaping the heat and din of the big city than jumping into a cool pool of water. Choose between the popular swimming ponds on Hampstead Heath or the totally refurbished London Fields Lido, a heated outdoor pool with two cafes.
ANIMALS IN THE CITY
Children love to observe and learn about animals, both the friendly and fierce kind, and London offers plenty of chances to do just that. London Zoo in Regent’s Park is a modern, innovative zoo well worth a visit even if you’ve been before; the exhibits change and evolve constantly. London Aquarium is equally fascinating and the latest addition to this watery world is a rainforest adventure.
MESSING ABOUT ON THE RIVER
The Thames attracts visitors and locals alike – some of our most popular apartments to rent in London are close to the river. Enjoy a tranquil boat ride, take a riverside stroll on a balmy summer’s eve or perhaps you prefer Thames Rockets! This guided tour by speed boat starts off calmly enough, then changes into first gear, so be warned! Goggles and life vests provided.
WIGWAMS IN THE PARK
Our central apartments in London will have a park close by to relax in – take a picnic lunch along and you’re all set! The Princess Diana Memorial Playground in Kensington Gardens has a pirate ship, wigwams, sea monsters and more. Another popular activity is pony riding in the vast expanse of spectacular Richmond Park, with it’s famous deer.
MUSIC & MAGIC IN THE WEST END
Once you’ve had enough of the outdoors, a West End show is always a treat. Matilda The Musical, adapted from Roald Dahl’s book, is a smash hit, award winning musical guaranteed to delight. Harry Potter and the Cursed Child is a must see for all magic fans out there – this critically acclaimed play introduces us to Harry Potter, family man.
